Log of a doctorJune 21, 1468.Log of a doctor by iguanablogger
The doctor was just screwing the top back on his prized jar of leeches when the yelps became audible.
"Ow, ow, ow!" The voice of a young boy cried out in pain, "Stop, Federico! It hurts too much!"
"Well how do you expect it to heal if you can't even get to the dottore?" An older child replied snappishly.
With worried curiosity, the black-robed man walked towards the two struggling siblings, noting their rich finery and well-groomed heads.
"Excuse me, bambini," His patient drone seemed out of place beside their grunts and gasps, "But is there anything I may do to assist you?"
"Yes, please!" The elder boy, a handsome child with auburn hair and hazel eyes, responded, "My brother and I were playing and he-well, he-he stumbled."
"Signore," He turned his head to acknowledge the smaller male, who whimpered pitifully at him, "if you are truly a doctor, you must fix my leg. The pain is unbearable!"
The doctor was silent. He bent down to the child's height and examined

It was a beautiful summer day in Italy, and even more so in Florence. Maria Auditore was one of many people who were currently enjoying the weather by making a trip to the market. It wasn't that she was in dire need of anything, but the day was much too inviting to spend it indoors.
Maria wandered through the throngs of people with no particular destination in mind. She enjoyed watching the masses and was glad to be out and about; the palazzo was feeling empty without Giovanni there. He was currently working at the Medici bank and wouldn't be expected home until late afternoon. Maria smiled softly to herself and her fingers reached up to brush the gold pendant that hung around her neck. It was Giovanni's engagement seal he had given her four years ago. The pendant was a flat oval shape with a brilliantly cut ruby set in the center. On the backside, the Auditore coat of

Ezio Auditore stood outside of a small looking building, inwardly groaning at the thought of actually having to work. His father had finally become so fed up with all of his troublemaking that he had told the young man to either get a job or stay at home with him. The Florentine noble chose the first option; at least this way he could get out of his house and perhaps goof off every once in awhile. He had originally wanted to pick out his new job, but before he could even begin to go around the city, asking people if they needed an extra assistant or something, his mother had gotten him a job working as an errand boy of some sorts for an artist that lived all the way across the city. The brunette showed his obvious displeasure to his new employment by not showing up the first day, but when his mother had found out that he was gallivanting around town with Federico, all hell broke loose. There was screaming, arguing, yelli

Do you remember the Big Bad Wolf? He destroyed the Three Little Pigs' houses and ate them (or only chased them, depending on the rendition). He ran to Little Red Riding Hood's home and devoured her grandmother. The Big Bad Wolf appears in countless fairy tales to eat and terrorize the general populace.
In many children's stories, the Big Bad Wolf is symbolic for the negative consequences that can follow bad choices. Two of the Three Little Pigs failed to work hard on their houses, allowing the wolf to blow them over with his tremendous breath. Littl
Hi, I'm Arabic, Son Of: A ManualHow "Ibn", "Bint", "Abu", "Um" and "Al" are used in Arabic culture.Hi, I'm Arabic, Son Of: A Manual by LadyVe
As most people know, I'm a fan of the Assassin's Creed series. I have been since the first game came out and though I have my issues with the franchise, especially the last two less than satisfactory titles, I'd still consider myself a loyal follower. Still, there is one flaw that I shall never be able to forgive Ubisoft for and that is its atrocious use of Arabic "surnames" in the 12th-13th century, the time in which the story takes place.
A protagonist who is called Ibn La'ahad or "Son of None" while his father's name is known? His children and wife are also called that way? Two brothers who are both called "Al-Sayf"? A man who is named Abbas Sofian? Did anyone actually bother to wonder if the Arabic usage of "surnames" might be different from Westerners, especially during that time?
Around the time of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the folks from Ubisoft once proudly stated in Xbox 360 Ma

You paced the room waiting for Ezio, he should be back soon. Even though you had only been in this strange time for a year, Ezio had become so close to you. It was the 24th of December, you really wanted your love back for Christmas, Mario assured you he would be, but you were not convinced. Feeling so glum you started to sing an good old Christmas song, well, with a touch of Ezio....
"Ezio baby, slip a sash under the tree for me!
I've been an awful good girl.

Ezio baby, a pair of assassins robes too, light blue.
Well I'll wait up for you dear.

Think of all the fun I've missed,
think of all the boys I haven't kissed.
Next year I could, be just a good,
if you check off my Christmas list.

Auditore Feathers"Madre?" I rapped lightly on the bedroom door. It was already ajar when I did, so it swung open slightly with a creak.Auditore Feathers by Moonsp1r1t
The scene before me did not surprise me in the slightest. My mother was kneeling before her bed, her hands clasped before her and her head bowed as if in prayer, but her eyes were open and staring, unseeing, at a small pile of white eagle feathers in front of her. I strode over and looked at the feathers with her for a moment before crouching down next to her. My eyes rested on another plate of uneaten food that my sister, Claudia, had left for her. I sighed; she didn't eat anything unless someone, usually Claudia, was actively feeding it to her.
"Madre, I part for Rome soon." I said, looking at her face.
She did not reply. She just continued to stare at the feathers before her, her brown eyes glazed. She didn't even acknowledge my presence; it was like I wasn't even there. I frowned, wondering if I should continue. It wasn't like she was going to respond
ReunionMalik had been expecting it from the moment he arrived in the Bureau. He knew that that moron was still alive, and he would likely be making his way back to Jerusalem eventually, as most assassins do.Reunion by Moonsp1r1t
Five days previous he had gotten a message from Al Mualim telling him that the former Master Assassin was heading to the city. Malik had fought battles within his mind, weighing his loyalty to the Creed versus the ease at which he could set a trap at the entrance of the Bureau that would hurl throwing knives upon whomever next entered. However, in the end the Creed won out, and the newly appointed Dai attempted to practice patience and restrain his anger. However, all his silent preparation was immediately forgotten when he heard the Novice himself drop into the covered courtyard.
Malik sighed and turned towards the bookshelf that lined the wall behind him, replacing the map reference back where it belonged. Altaïr strutted into the room, his head held high, his hands clenched
Footsteps- Altmal part 3He was practically Altair’s prisoner for the next few days. The assassin would come and go, only staying for long enough to change the bandages on Malik’s stump and prepare him food. He was actually quite the cook, much to Malik’s surprise. Malik had asked him about this the first day that Altair had cooked for him. “Where did you learn to cook?” Altair had heard him, he was sure, but the assassin only gazed off into the distance. After a few minutes had passed he answered the question carefully. “Abroad.”Footsteps- Altmal part 3 by Rileysparx
One-word answers were Malik’s least favorite kind of answer. He liked an explanation to accompany the word, some background information. Malik’s life was based on information, he needed it. Unfortunately one-word answers were Altair’s favorite to give. So the interrogation continued. “Where abroad?” Altair glanced at the wounded man whom he had brought out of his room for the first time since being injured
The Perfect Christmas Tree-AltMalThe little red globe shone brilliantly in the light of the Jerusalem bureau that day. A light snow was drifting lazily down from the sky and the air had a crisp chill to it. A man in a white cloak padded lightly over the stone floor of the entrance room, a slight flush to his light skin. He was the one who had hung the ornament there, now he questioned its placement. It wasn't a tree like the one that he'd heard people at the market talking about but what else could he hang it on. "Altair! Stop pacing. You'll wear a rut in the floor." Malik shouted at the man. He just smirked and continued his aimless walk. Occasionally he would stop and look at the little glass ball. He liked it. Usually he wouldn't buy something so useless but it seemed to shimmer, maybe it was just him. Just then a thought popped into his head, he reached up and grabbed the bulb, removing it from the ceiling. The Perfect Christmas Tree-AltMal by Rileysparx
Altair walked into the main room of the bureau and stood expectantly in front of Malik. "What do you w
Footsteps - AltMal - Part 2Malik was still unconscious when Altair reached the Jerusalem Bureau. He transferred the smaller man into his left arm and grabbed ahold of the lattice work with his right, swinging them both down into the entry room ungracefully. Altair's leather clad feet landed on the hard stone with a loud slap, he jolted forward from the unaccustomed extra weight and almost spilled Malik onto the floor. "Jeez Malik, you need to lose a few pounds." he said to the empty room. Altair rearranged Malik so that he was carrying the injured man like his new wife, and proceeded to take him into the Dai's personal quarters.Footsteps - AltMal - Part 2 by Rileysparx
The room was spartan with furnishings having only a bed and a built-in bookshelf. Altair gently laid Malik on his bed and began disrobing the unconscious man. He had several small nicks on his torso but the stump of his former arm was where the real problem lay. It looked as it a wild animal had attacked the useless limb mercilessly. The skin was shredded and would be impossible to

Desmond was awoken by a loud cry. Is that a baby? He sat upright and turned his head to find the source of the noise. As his drowsy gaze fell upon the wailing occupant of the crib behind him, memories soon fell into place like a time-lapse jigsaw puzzle composed of all the events since that medical exam in January.
Not just a baby! He bolted out of bed. My baby. Hoooly shit. It still boggled his mind, though part of him knew that, logically speaking, it really shouldn't, since he'd had seven m
The EndIt wasn't anything special. They just had a random citizen down in the village make one, along with an engraved stone. The coffin was simple and plain, made of wood, and completely unextraordinary, completely unlike the legend it was to contain. The End by Moonsp1r1t
Ezio and Sophia carried the coffin back to the fortress, and down into Altaïr's library. They loaded the Grandmaster's bones into the coffin reverently, careful not to miss a single piece, and carried him out of the library, at long last.
Ezio closed the doors to the library, and pried the Masyaf keys carefully from the door, ringing them around Altaïr's skull like a halo, before placing the lid over the Grandmaster's body and nailing it shut.
"What are we going to do with him?" Sophia whispered, staring at the coffin.
"We are going to bury him. It is forbidden to burn him." Ezio said, after a moments thought.
Sophia nodded and helped him to lift the coffin. The two of them walked back out of the fortress of the assassins, Altaïr

Clay Kaczmarek knew every single byte of the digital environment that he'd lived in for the past few months, and he was bored with the lot of it. So the moment Desmond appeared, Clay's consciousness hastily and greedily scanned every iota of new information.
Boredom wasn't the sole reason he did so, though. He had been tasked with helping Desmond Miles, and the best way to do that, he reasoned, was by knowing everything about him. In addition, Clay predicted that Desmond would be more comfortable on Animus Island, less traumatized by being there, if he had an avatar to represent him. Of course he would, since he was still alive, still invested in his physical form. The system that normally did this had been shut down along with everything else. And so he catalogued Desmond's body in its entirety to create such an avatar. Although he was unable to know what clothes the man preferred and how long his

Achilles had passed away.
Peacefully, while he was sleeping. He hadn't felt any pain.
As was his last wish, Altaïr had buried him on the hill, next to his parents. All the people from the village had been there, like at Kadar's funeral. Everyone, except Connor.
He was still out, God knows where.
But before passing away, Achilles had told Altaïr he was worried about him. He didn't tell Altaïr what the American assassin was up to, though.
So here Altaïr was, riding through the large forest, trying to find the other master assassin.
He patted the blonde horse on its neck as he let it slow down. He noticed how tired it was because the horse immediately let its head hang down. Altaïr had been riding around for hours, trying to find trails or rumors on where Connor could be.
But he found nothing.
Altaïr sighed and combed the horse's manes with his fingers. He returned to the Homestead and figured he might as well help the

A jolt of surprise bolted through his body as he opened his eyes fiercely with a gasp. His head turned to look into the blond woman's face, almost as if he was not expecting to see it. Actually, he was not expecting to see her at all.
She rolled her eyes a bit, "Who else would it be?" she seemed a bit annoyed today, but there was more worry in her voice than irritation, "You've been sleeping quite oddly since yesterday afternoon. Is everything alright?" She then stopped, and stared to the tear stains on his face, "Desmond? Have have you been crying?"
He held his head as he slowly sat up, feeling the wet streaks on his cheeks, and quickly wiping them away. There was a heavy a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. Desmond had forgotten, the whole thing was just a dream, a result of too much exposure from the Animus. The realization that everything, all of it, Malik and him together,

The school year is finally over and it’s time to relax and just sleep the days away. Well not for me. For with me right away time to get to work.
I pulled up a dirt driveway and to the towns local farm. “Good morning Emily. Nice to have you back.” I send him a smile. “It’s good to be back Bill.”

“Yeah I just got out. Why?” I stop and looked at my cell when I heard what sound like an evil laugh.

“Tell me how we had a test in every single one of our classes and I didn't know.” Ally shrugged her shoulders to me but then smiled evilly.
“Hey, I have something to give you.” I raised a brow and sat up as she dug in her backpack. “What is it?” She pulled out a magazine and hand it to me, my face turning crimson red as I see the cover of it.
“What the fuck Ally?!” She fell to the floor laughing her head off at my reaction.
“Ally this isn't funny! Why the hell would you give me a porno magazine?!” I drop it on my bed as I looked at her with embarrassed and angry eyes. After a few minutes she calmed down and smiled at me. “Oh come on, even you have sexual desires Emily. Plus maybe you can buy

His Loyalty, Her LoveIt was a fair day in Rome. The birds were chirping, the people were chatting amongst themselves and the day was as bright as it could be. The race had one condition. The loser had to do anything the winner wished of him. Vieri was happy with the terms, thinking of all the embarrassing things he could get Federico to do when he lost. The oldest Auditore was known for his lazy nature, if would be an easy win. He didn't even lend any thought of what could happen to him if Federico should somehow win.
This was exactly why he found himself hidden away in the stable, cursing every Auditore that had ever walked the planet. Federico was having a ball, draped over the stable's railing, listening to the other go on.

It had been weeks with no rain now, the plants were all in need of a drink, and though the sky was clear, father had said there would be a storm on the way.
As you drew nearer the smell of smoke became clearer and clearer. You started to hurry along, turning the corner to face your house on fire. Sleeping AssassinSleeping Assassin (AlexDes)Sleeping Assassin by Karymi
Alex ran to Desmond Miles who lay dead on the cold stone floor. Alex ran his hand across Desmond’s cheek, it was still warm, Alex cringed not from fear, and not from hate. His hand cringed on Desmond’s cheek feeling a moist spot. Desmond had cried before he had died. Alex didn’t know what to do. He could take the body, but having body of his partner would probably only bring grief and pain. Alex then moved to Desmond’s hand. “Jesus Christ, Desmond.”
The hand and forearm were burnt to a crisp. Alex picked Desmond hand up, it was hot, not from life, but from a hell Desmond had felt before death, Alex tried to intertwine his hand with the assassin, but to no use, the bones were melted together. Alex crumpled next to Desmond. His body was still warm, if only he could have found Desmond a little earlier. If he just could have found the team of Abstergo agents a little earlier, but no. Nothing ever worked out for Alex. Alex Merc

“C’è afa.” Rhian Yates sighed as her brother, Cadell Yates, came to lean against the gunwale to her right. “Non mi piace.”
Cadell chuckled. Rhian did not know if he was amused by her statement or her low, gravelly “boy” voice. It took him a moment to reply; Rhian could see him making the mental switch from English to Italian.
“Non è malo, sì?” he countered. “C’è il sole, non fa più caldo, e non piove.”
Rhian shifted restlessly, glancing around at her unofficial watcher. Gregson, though his leg had been removed four days previous, was sitting on the deck, a loaded pistol across his lap, still-sharp eyes fixed upon the Yates siblings where they stood at the gunwale. Sighing, she turned her gaze back out to the ro

Fog. Fog, fog, foggity-fog. Fog, rolling and pitching, and heat, burning, and burning and burning. He was burning. From time to time, he thought he saw people he knew. His strong mother, one of the stubborn Cymry through and through, worn and tired after raising him and his three older sisters and his older two brothers and watching her other three babies die, but still ready with a smile at every turn. His solemn English father, a drunkard by evening who was always heavy-handed in every aspect of his life, willing to hit those who annoyed him, but a hard worker nonetheless who did his best to keep his large family from starving. He had died on his son’s seventeenth birthday, as he recalled. The first girl he had ever kissed, dark hair curling through his fingers and dark eyes twinkling. His beautiful, b

As Rhian Yates was escorted across the gap between the Jackdaw and the H.M.S. Sophie alongside Estevan and the rest of the Spaniards, she kept her features carefully neutral. She refused to feel regret for what she had done, which was exactly what she had needed to do to survive. Beside her, Estevan and Juan laughed and joked about how Edward had collapsed in front of the entire crew and the boarding party. Rhian added her input when necessary. However, her overall mood was solemn, if not positively sour. If nothing else, she was more than unhappy to be back on a naval vessel.
She was in extreme danger.
If any of the crew decided to look too closely at her, they would likely recognize her for a woman. While she knew naval crews to be more disciplined than pirate crews, she had no doubts that at least one man would decide to risk

Jenny's Arrival: AU Assassin's Creed Black Flag 9 I stand there and stare at her, not moving, not blinking, barely breathing. Frozen, with no clue what to do. The girl stares at me. I stare at her. I have no idea what to do.
"Jenny, is it?" asks Mary, taking a step forward. She leans down so the two of them are on eye level.
Jenny nods slowly, still unsure of the situation.
Mary rewards this action with a grin. "I'm Mary, Mary Read, though some people call me Kidd."
Jenny giggles. "But you're not a kid, you're a woman grown."
Mary's grin widens. "Now that you mention it, it is a funny name, ain't it?"
Jenny smiles and nods again, more su

“You’re an idiot, you know that?”you scolded to the assassin-pirate before you as you cleaned out the bloody cut on his arm. “Five against one aren’t the best odds in a fight. Especially not if you end up with what? Around twenty coins?”.
“Twenty-two.”Edward corrected you on which you rolled your (e/c) eyes. “Still not enough to risk your life for.”you remarked as you prepared a needle and thread. The cut on his arm was long and pretty deep. Stitches were needed. Luckily for a certain assassin-pirate you had enough skills thanks to your boring yet mandatory sessions of sewing with your mother when you were little.
“Auch!”the blond man who always seemed to flirt with danger whined the moment you pierced his skin with the needle. “Oh, don’t be a baby Edward.”you told him, your voice coated with an

I laugh good-naturedly. "Aye, lad, you could wait until we lower the gang plank."
"I was given 5 gold Reales to make sure you got this letter as soon as your feet left your ship," he says, out of breath.
5 gold Reales to a street urchin like this? Must seem like a fortune. More than enough to make sure the letter gets delivered. Must be important.
Instead of waiting for the plank I brace myself against the railing and launch over the side, landing on the dock. True to form, no sooner have my feet touched ground than the boy presses the letter into my hand.
I flip him another coin. "You've done your task well, lad. Take this with my thanks."
His eyes light up and he dashes away, not wanting to give me a chance to change my mind.

At these Words, Edward jerked his head round to face the fellow, and queried, "How's that?"
He supposed certain Sodomites, soaked through with Levitical concerns as to the Morality of their Pleasures, might not consider themselves as True Men. He'd have thought James' Intellect to be above such daffy Rationalizations, though. Surely that Assassin's Creed was his only Doctrine.
"My Christian name," James said, a note of Irony in the words, "was given to me as Mary Read."
Realization dawned upon the Captain. That slight Build, those soft and elegant Features. The graceful manner of Motion, which Edward had attributed as some peculiar Effect of Assassin Training.
"You are a Woman then..." he held his voice down as other taverngoers passed by, knowing the keen Ears he addressed would have no Difficulty hearing, "...who has put on manly Guise to take up your chosen Calling."

Locating the house was fairly simple, Annetta was waiting for them at the front door. She escorted them in, but when she opened the door, the inside looked more like a brothel then a house. Women were everywhere, dressed in revealing clothing and entertaining guests.
“I think we have the wrong building . . .” Ezio said, not expecting this.
“No, no this is it,” Annetta assured.
(y/n) noticed some of the women giving Ezio seductive looks, she gave them death glares to which they only giggled at. From the very back, the most beautiful woman came forward dressed in a red silk dress, she looked much like Annetta, which meant the she was most likely her sister.
“It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Messer Ezio. Annetta speaks highly of you. I can see why,” she said.
“I appreciate the kind words Madonna . . . .?” Ezio said, pausing when he didn’t know her name.
“Ti prego, call me Paola,” she then turned her attentio

The girl ran through the alleyways, trying to loose the two men that were on her tail. (y/n) had once again become bored and did something rather unusual to break her boredom. She had looked around the garbage and found some rotten tomatoes, then using her incredible climbing skills, scaled up a wall to the roof of a house. With the tomatoes, she waited for a vulnerable target, and when she found it, she hauled the tomatoes over and ledge and hit her mark. After that, she got what she wanted: a fun game of chase, only problem is if she really did get caught, she’d probably suffer a bit of a beating. But so far, she’s never been caught by man or guard, she was just simply too swift.
Back to her situation, she turned sharply at a corner and climbed up a ladder to the safety of the roof tops. (y/n) snickered as she watched the men just pass on by, not even bothering to look up the ladder

It seemed like days before sensation started pouring back into Seona's body. Her hands felt the touch of cool water. The sounds of waves came roaring into her ears. She slowly opened her eyes, a bright light searing into them like a laser. But then, things began to shift. It was if reality around her was beginning to settle in and take shape from a moment of instability.
Seona closed her eyes again, unable to deal with the light still streaming in. In a few short moments, she began to hear voices in a language that was familiar. However, she couldn't understand them. She felt the sudden brace of what felt like cold, hard rock beneath her. An array of aromas started filling her nostrils, almost overwhelming her.
She felt herself becoming oriented in space, realizing that she was now lying on her stomach. She rested for a moment or two, taking a moment to collect her thoughts. She wasn't falling now, and that was as good of a start a

Chapter 1: And It Was All in Good Fun
What Halloween could mean to a person often depended on how old they were and what part of their life they were in. As a child, one enjoyed dressing up as a cool cartoon character or mythical figure and impressing your friends. The adults gave you candy, more than any other time of the year. It was pretty much a time to be silly and wild and it was all in good fun.
Halloween for a college student, however, was very different, at least at this university. Halloween was an excuse to throw wild parties, dress up in seductive costumes, and basically get yourself
The Writing ProcessWhat is the Writing Process? The Writing Process by LaMonaca
Many of us learned that the writing process is made up of five parts: Pre-writing, Writing, Revision, Editing, and Publishing. Indeed, this process has been so ingrained, and the vocabulary and terms have become such a part of our education, that some students (and adults) feel as if writing is a formulaic, rigid thingnot unlike learning mathematicsthat they simply never excelled in. Fortunately, this simply isn't true. While the five basic steps of the writing process are effective, they can only be effective if the people using the process understand the purpose of each step.
Experience has shown that many students do not know the purpose of drafting beyond a certain, vague understanding that you're supposed to "correct" or "fix" something for each new draft. Its unfortunate, but its also been shown that students who are forced to Pre-Write in certain ways, even when they have been
