Log of a doctorJune 21, 1468.Log of a doctor by iguanablogger
The doctor was just screwing the top back on his prized jar of leeches when the yelps became audible.
"Ow, ow, ow!" The voice of a young boy cried out in pain, "Stop, Federico! It hurts too much!"
"Well how do you expect it to heal if you can't even get to the dottore?" An older child replied snappishly.
With worried curiosity, the black-robed man walked towards the two struggling siblings, noting their rich finery and well-groomed heads.
"Excuse me, bambini," His patient drone seemed out of place beside their grunts and gasps, "But is there anything I may do to assist you?"
"Yes, please!" The elder boy, a handsome child with auburn hair and hazel eyes, responded, "My brother and I were playing and he-well, he-he stumbled."
"Signore," He turned his head to acknowledge the smaller male, who whimpered pitifully at him, "if you are truly a doctor, you must fix my leg. The pain is unbearable!"
The doctor was silent. He bent down to the child's height and examined

It was a beautiful summer day in Italy, and even more so in Florence. Maria Auditore was one of many people who were currently enjoying the weather by making a trip to the market. It wasn't that she was in dire need of anything, but the day was much too inviting to spend it indoors.
Maria wandered through the throngs of people with no particular destination in mind. She enjoyed watching the masses and was glad to be out and about; the palazzo was feeling empty without Giovanni there. He was currently working at the Medici bank and wouldn't be expected home until late afternoon. Maria smiled softly to herself and her fingers reached up to brush the gold pendant that hung around her neck. It was Giovanni's engagement seal he had given her four years ago. The pendant was a flat oval shape with a brilliantly cut ruby set in the center. On the backside, the Auditore coat of

Ezio Auditore stood outside of a small looking building, inwardly groaning at the thought of actually having to work. His father had finally become so fed up with all of his troublemaking that he had told the young man to either get a job or stay at home with him. The Florentine noble chose the first option; at least this way he could get out of his house and perhaps goof off every once in awhile. He had originally wanted to pick out his new job, but before he could even begin to go around the city, asking people if they needed an extra assistant or something, his mother had gotten him a job working as an errand boy of some sorts for an artist that lived all the way across the city. The brunette showed his obvious displeasure to his new employment by not showing up the first day, but when his mother had found out that he was gallivanting around town with Federico, all hell broke loose. There was screaming, arguing, yelli

Do you remember the Big Bad Wolf? He destroyed the Three Little Pigs' houses and ate them (or only chased them, depending on the rendition). He ran to Little Red Riding Hood's home and devoured her grandmother. The Big Bad Wolf appears in countless fairy tales to eat and terrorize the general populace.
In many children's stories, the Big Bad Wolf is symbolic for the negative consequences that can follow bad choices. Two of the Three Little Pigs failed to work hard on their houses, allowing the wolf to blow them over with his tremendous breath. Littl
Describing your CharactersDescribing your CharactersDescribing your Characters by Inkfish7
As writers, one of our primary goals is to bring characters to life in the readers’ imaginations. To do this, a character needs two things:
1) A personality.
2) A physical appearance the reader can imagine.
The first is created through characterization, and the second is said to be done through physical description. While both statements are true, what I’d like to discuss is how physical description needs to do more than just craft appearance, and more than anything, it's characterization that contributes to vividly imagined characters.
Take a look at the following example.
1) When I entered Mr. Smith's office, he stood and smiled at me. He had a big nose, brown eyes, and short, brown hair. He wore a dark suit. I shook his hand.
What do you know about Mr. Smith from this brief scene? The physical details I’ve given say that he has a big nose, brown eyes, and short, brown hair.
Hi, I'm Arabic, Son Of: A ManualHow "Ibn", "Bint", "Abu", "Um" and "Al" are used in Arabic culture.Hi, I'm Arabic, Son Of: A Manual by LadyVe
As most people know, I'm a fan of the Assassin's Creed series. I have been since the first game came out and though I have my issues with the franchise, especially the last two less than satisfactory titles, I'd still consider myself a loyal follower. Still, there is one flaw that I shall never be able to forgive Ubisoft for and that is its atrocious use of Arabic "surnames" in the 12th-13th century, the time in which the story takes place.
A protagonist who is called Ibn La'ahad or "Son of None" while his father's name is known? His children and wife are also called that way? Two brothers who are both called "Al-Sayf"? A man who is named Abbas Sofian? Did anyone actually bother to wonder if the Arabic usage of "surnames" might be different from Westerners, especially during that time?
Around the time of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the folks from Ubisoft once proudly stated in Xbox 360 Ma

As you put everything in place downstairs Ezio and his family waited for you, the medicine had left you feeling a Little weak and numb but you managed to get out the room, in the hall of the brothel you could see Ezio hugging Claudia and his mother was resting her head in his shoulder.
-(Y/N)! –Claudia exclaimed when she noticed you in the stairs, she ran towards you and wrapped you to tight making you let out a whimper. –Sorry, are you hurt? –She said as she let go of you.
-Just a bruise, nothing to worry. –You answered and hugged her now, Paola walked in making Ezio walk towards her.
-Then we are ready, thank you again for everything. –Paola gave him a kiss in the cheek; you could see how he froze for a second.
-Stay safe Ezio. Stay vigilant. I suspect the road ahead is yet long. –She then walked in your direction; Claudia took a step back and went to her mother. –Be careful out t

Ever since you have memory, you always have known the Auditore family, your father and your mother were trained as assassins along with Giovanni making them really close friends and once you were born really close families. Your father normally worked with Giovanni as his assistant while you always played with Ezio and Federico, Claudia always was doing ladies duties and Petruccio was just too ill to play with you three. You have known them from several years by now but it was until your twelfth birthday that the normal days were over, Your father had received a threat from the templars in Firenze, the city was no longer safe for you two, your mother sadly was the message, she was murdered in your own house while you and your father were out, He decided then that even at your young age, you had to start your training before it was too late, you knew the nature of your family and you were aware that you could be murde

Years passed and you turned seventeen, your father trained you as best as he could, you learned how to fight, how to blend in a crowd, how to avoid guards, how to kill in a silent way, even taught you how to pick pocket people, sometimes an assassin runs out of funds and needs to do this, but just in emergencies of course.
You have been thinking of how to tell your father that you wanted to go back to Firenze to see Ezio, but whenever you tried to get the topic he changed it or said he was too busy doing other things, you decided to just ignore it but sometimes it made you feel sad, you didn’t have any friends because of your training and the only people you knew were the maids of the house, some of your French siblings and the people of the order you were in.
Your ceremony was meant to be in a few days and your dad was preparing all that was required, you were anxious because of it and you decided that after your ceremony you woul

When you arrived surprisingly the horseman had left your belongings in the Auditore house, seemed like your father have told him to do so without you even knowing. You greeted everyone, Maria and Giovanni were the first ones to salute you, they were really happy, Maria even cried a Little when she saw how big you were, making you blush, Giovanni gave you kisses in both of your cheeks and Claudia did the same, she was really happy that she even told her mother if you could spend the night in her room, Obviously Maria told her that you needed to rest so you would have your own room, Petruccio on the other hand greeted you but in a cold way, he didn’t seem to remember you.
When things slowed down Federico and one of the maids helped you with your belongings, you only had two bags, one with your clothes and personal stuff and the other one with your assassin robes and hidden blades. Your room was in the second f

01. Holding No Mercy
After years of enduring insulting words and hateful stares, you had become unbothered by the multiple gazes that set upon your form, though some of them were hidden behind the steel of worn helmets. The pure smugness that radiated from the surrounding Templars was nothing short of discomfort, sensing their overwhelming doubts in your skills. They thought you an inadequate addition to their purpose, only serving as a setback in their order.
You thought otherwise…
Given that you were a woman, many of them protested against allowing you to even train under the Templars’ cause. In their ignorant eyes, a woman was meant for nothing more than maintaining a man’s home, pleasurable sex, and bearing children. It was a pitiful life, holding no real place in your ambitions. Many women would oppose against your opinion, claiming to be content with the simplicity

It was a cold night in Jerusalem. Rain was beating down. Malik was busy in the bureau, he leaned over his desk, staring at the many maps he had been making. But he was finding it hard to focus, thoughts of his brothers death kept tormenting him, over and over the thought flooding his mind. "Kadar..... I'm sorry." He muttered. He couldn't help sometimes blaming himself, as well as Altair, he had escaped, while Kadar had not been so lucky. Why did Kadar have to die, if only he could exchange places with his brother. But he couldn't, he had to try and focus on the task at hand.
Malik worked long into the night. Though something was disturbing him; he kept hearing a strange noise, like something in pain and distress, but what it was he couldn't tell. Malik tried to brush it off, but the noise persisted. "Ugh.." Malik groaned and walked towards the door. He pulled it open and peered out. Near the door, was a small, wet, fuzzy......thing. "Miss [Name]?" It was Ugo standing by the bedside, he seemed a bit worried.
"Hm?" You sat up and rubbed your eyes, pain then arose from your shoulder as you shifted a bit as you hissed in pain.
"You could've asked me to help you get back."
"I didn't want to be a burden."
"You're never a burden, Miss [Name]." Ugo reassured you as you studied your shoulder; it was nicely bandaged and the wound stopped bleeding.
"Ah, Miss [Name]! You're awake!" Antonio said as he entered the room.
"Hello." You were relived no one changed your clothes knowing that the only other woman was Rosa...

The three teenagers got up and went to the kitchen.

Ezio and Desmond nodded. Soon after, Haytham came in with two bags of groceries and set them down on the table. The boys grabbed the bags, took out the contents and began to put them away.

Then, he went back to get more bags just as Edward came in with a couple of bags. It was 15 minutes later when all of the groceries were finally put away. Haytham turned to them.

As Rhian Yates was escorted across the gap between the Jackdaw and the H.M.S. Sophie alongside Estevan and the rest of the Spaniards, she kept her features carefully neutral. She refused to feel regret for what she had done, which was exactly what she had needed to do to survive. Beside her, Estevan and Juan laughed and joked about how Edward had collapsed in front of the entire crew and the boarding party. Rhian added her input when necessary. However, her overall mood was solemn, if not positively sour. If nothing else, she was more than unhappy to be back on a naval vessel.
She was in extreme danger.
If any of the crew decided to look too closely at her, they would likely recognize her for a woman. While she knew naval crews to be more disciplined than pirate crews, she had no doubts that at least one man would decide to risk
Merry Christmas Abstergo Chapter 1Merry Christmas Abstergo Chapter 1 by Punkerdragon
It was late as darkness descended upon the city by the bay. The light rain added to the gloomy night and as I quickly glanced out of the drippy window of this shimmering office tower I took note of the frenetic hubbub on the streets below. Stop lights blinked read and green and cars zoomed by like streaks of light. People rushed to and fro, many making their way from their own office tower to the Metro with one thing on their mind, getting out of the foggy and damp city as fast as possible - home. I quickly shut out the sounds and chaos of the scene below and returned to my plush office chair high atop the Abstergo tower in the heart of San Francisco’s financial district. The soft glow of the Abstergo logo cast a pall in the room and seemed to be my only company.
The dim light reflected across the surface of the large conference table that dominated the room. The rectangular mahogany table accommodated eight, three chairs to each length and one at each end. The office comfortably

"And then there were these barrels of gunpowder, and I lit them on fire and exploded the machine gun! But the Borgia had another machine gun so I had to chase it down and destroy that one too! But there were like hundreds of Templars on horseback trying to get me! But I was all pow, pow, pow!" Desmond mimed firing a cannon. "Using their own weapon against them! How d'ya like dem apples, Cesare?!" he declared triumphantly.
"Sounds like quite an escapade. Your ancestor sure had a crazy life." Alexis remarked. "...By the way, why do you keep saying 'I', when it's not really you?"
"Well, technically, yeah, Ezio originally did it. But I was doing it today." He scratched his head as he tried to explain. "It's not like watching a movie; there's input from me that affects how things happen. I have to follow the memory close enough to stay synced, but within those parameters, I can choose how to do it. Does that make any sense?"
"Uh, I guess so. Next question: What do you mean, 'synced'?
Edward's Letter: AU Assassin's Creed Black Flag 7 The ship rocks gently beneath us as I study Mary's face in the moonlight. Her hair is down, falling gently around her shoulders, and her breasts are no longer bound. She's taken the leap, revealed herself to the world, her life will never be the same... and she did it all for me. Well, perhaps not all for me. I'm sure some part of her will be glad to no longer be living a lie, but the reasons she gave for keeping her disguise are still valid. It's not like us pirates have suddenly done away with our superstitions.Edward's Letter: AU Assassin's Creed Black Flag 7 by Phsbarbie
If she were to leave the Jackdaw now she'd have a hard time finding another ship to crew, which must mean she has no plans to leave. The thought splits my face into a grin. That means she trusts me and, whether she'll admit it or not, she loves me too. I brush a tendril of hair off her cheek and she swats at me in her sleep. I chuckle. It seems Mary is Mary, even when unconscious.
No one left the Jackdaw the morning James
And the glass won't be parting - Chapter 12And the glass won't be parting - Chapter 12 by IAmAnaFoxy
More Days to Stay
I felt pain like hell. It was tearing me from inside. I’ve been shot once, wounded so many times that I wouldn’t be able to count a precise number, but this pain was a different kind of torture – in fact it excelled my previous experience in thousands of times. It felt like it had no end, like I’d be suffering this misery forever. Between the eternal hours of agony during which I couldn’t think of anything else but a precious wish for this child to be finally out, I did have one tiny thought: it used to cross my head now and then, so fast, that I managed to interpret it only on the third or fourth time and the thought was – to let a man take me drunk again…no fucking way…even if this man will be Kenway.
Even so I had no future for this to happen again. And as soon as I realized it I started thinking the other way. In my screams I swore to God I would willingly forget the life of danger and adventures,

To suffer without dying
It happened at the break of dawn or so it must have been according to the change of guards and breakfast brought into every cell. Mine stayed there, by the wall to where I kicked the bowl at the first screams I've heard from the corridor leading to the women block. Mary was right with her expectations.
My heart sank and for a moment everything went black in front of my eyes and I thought I'd lose consciousness, but I clenched my fists around the metal grating and forced myself to pull together. Decent Brian passed my cell in a hurry.
"The plan is delayed" – he threw me and vanished in the corridor direction. I cursed obscenities to myself. We were just going to put up a plan of running away into motion this night and this guy had ideas of how to run away unnoticed but now all hopes were gone. Why couldn't the baby wait for just a couple of days more?!
Decent Brian disappeared behind the corner and soon two women crossed our block to join him the

…only to tear it apart.
“What did she mean by telling she lied to you that night?” – Vane asked as I had just coped to wake up from the knocked out blackness I had been in. I was sitting in front of him on the floor rubbing my head and feeling slick blood over the big lump swelled on the place on which the hilt of the guard’s sword had landed several hours ago.
“I dare believe she meant the child isn’t of Israel fucking Hands”
“he’s yours then?”
“Aye, can bet everything I own on it”
“You own nothing right now”
“Right… but still I own manor on Inagua and the fleet, this they can’t take away from me”
Charles chuckled making himself more comfortable leaning his back against the wall, having nothing to do he was chewing the cone he had found in his bed of hay heap. But the look he gave me transferring the mix of mocking and bitter boredom was still excelled with j

Locating the house was fairly simple, Annetta was waiting for them at the front door. She escorted them in, but when she opened the door, the inside looked more like a brothel then a house. Women were everywhere, dressed in revealing clothing and entertaining guests.
“I think we have the wrong building . . .” Ezio said, not expecting this.
“No, no this is it,” Annetta assured.
(y/n) noticed some of the women giving Ezio seductive looks, she gave them death glares to which they only giggled at. From the very back, the most beautiful woman came forward dressed in a red silk dress, she looked much like Annetta, which meant the she was most likely her sister.
“It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Messer Ezio. Annetta speaks highly of you. I can see why,” she said.
“I appreciate the kind words Madonna . . . .?” Ezio said, pausing when he didn’t know her name.
“Ti prego, call me Paola,” she then turned her attentio

“Get back here you little monello!!”
“Haha! Not a chance idiota!!”
The girl ran through the alleyways, trying to loose the two men that were on her tail. (y/n) had once again become bored and did something rather unusual to break her boredom. She had looked around the garbage and found some rotten tomatoes, then using her incredible climbing skills, scaled up a wall to the roof of a house. With the tomatoes, she waited for a vulnerable target, and when she found it, she hauled the tomatoes over and ledge and hit her mark. After that, she got what she wanted: a fun game of chase, only problem is if she really did get caught, she’d probably suffer a bit of a beating. But so far, she’s never been caught by man or guard, she was just simply too swift.
Back to her situation, she turned sharply at a corner and climbed up a ladder to the safety of the roof tops. (y/n) snickered as she watched the men just pass on by, not even bothering to look up the ladder

It seemed like days before sensation started pouring back into Seona's body. Her hands felt the touch of cool water. The sounds of waves came roaring into her ears. She slowly opened her eyes, a bright light searing into them like a laser. But then, things began to shift. It was if reality around her was beginning to settle in and take shape from a moment of instability.
Seona closed her eyes again, unable to deal with the light still streaming in. In a few short moments, she began to hear voices in a language that was familiar. However, she couldn't understand them. She felt the sudden brace of what felt like cold, hard rock beneath her. An array of aromas started filling her nostrils, almost overwhelming her.
She felt herself becoming oriented in space, realizing that she was now lying on her stomach. She rested for a moment or two, taking a moment to collect her thoughts. She wasn't falling now, and that was as good of a start a

Chapter 1: And It Was All in Good Fun
What Halloween could mean to a person often depended on how old they were and what part of their life they were in. As a child, one enjoyed dressing up as a cool cartoon character or mythical figure and impressing your friends. The adults gave you candy, more than any other time of the year. It was pretty much a time to be silly and wild and it was all in good fun.
Halloween for a college student, however, was very different, at least at this university. Halloween was an excuse to throw wild parties, dress up in seductive costumes, and basically get yourself
The Writing ProcessWhat is the Writing Process? The Writing Process by LaMonaca
Many of us learned that the writing process is made up of five parts: Pre-writing, Writing, Revision, Editing, and Publishing. Indeed, this process has been so ingrained, and the vocabulary and terms have become such a part of our education, that some students (and adults) feel as if writing is a formulaic, rigid thingnot unlike learning mathematicsthat they simply never excelled in. Fortunately, this simply isn't true. While the five basic steps of the writing process are effective, they can only be effective if the people using the process understand the purpose of each step.
Experience has shown that many students do not know the purpose of drafting beyond a certain, vague understanding that you're supposed to "correct" or "fix" something for each new draft. Its unfortunate, but its also been shown that students who are forced to Pre-Write in certain ways, even when they have been
