When it comes to characters, we writers have a certain goal: to bring these people to life in the readers' imaginations. But for this to work, two things need to happen. 
1) The character needs personality. 
2) The readers need to be able to visualize the character as they read.
The first is achieved through characterization, while the second is traditionally thought to be achieved through physical description. What I’d like to discuss in this journal entry, however, is how physical description also needs to contribute to a character’s personality, and how it’s actually characterization, more than anything, that helps the readers visualize a character.

As most people know, I'm a fan of the Assassin's Creed series. I have been since the first game came out and though I have my issues with the franchise, especially the last two less than satisfactory titles, I'd still consider myself a loyal follower. Still, there is one flaw that I shall never be able to forgive Ubisoft for and that is its atrocious use of Arabic "surnames" in the 12th-13th century, the time in which the story takes place.

They allow him to stay in bed just a little longer, and there’s nothing quite like the steady sound of raindrops hitting the world outside, especially when combined with the steady breathing of the man next to him.

Altaïr always wakes up a little earlier on those rainy mornings; it’s almost like his subconsiousness hears it in his sleeping state and wakes him up, just so he can listen, just so he can stay awake a bit longer and just listen.

I am contemplating writing a couple of oneshots for AC2 and AC3 (Ezio x OC, and Connor x OC), but I am relatively new to Assassin's Creed and I wish to do a good job with the OCs and the story and such. But I am not quite sure where to start. Anyone got any advice?

(I was originally just going to do fanart, but realized my drawing is subpar, and fanfiction tends to be my stronger area.)

Belated thanks for requesting my fics. I didn't approve them because they're very old, all written before the 2nd game came out. The notes/feedback I tend to get now are along the lines of "but that's not what happened!" so I hope you'll understand that I'd rather just let them rest.
