Log of a doctorJune 21, 1468.Log of a doctor by iguanablogger
The doctor was just screwing the top back on his prized jar of leeches when the yelps became audible.
"Ow, ow, ow!" The voice of a young boy cried out in pain, "Stop, Federico! It hurts too much!"
"Well how do you expect it to heal if you can't even get to the dottore?" An older child replied snappishly.
With worried curiosity, the black-robed man walked towards the two struggling siblings, noting their rich finery and well-groomed heads.
"Excuse me, bambini," His patient drone seemed out of place beside their grunts and gasps, "But is there anything I may do to assist you?"
"Yes, please!" The elder boy, a handsome child with auburn hair and hazel eyes, responded, "My brother and I were playing and he-well, he-he stumbled."
"Signore," He turned his head to acknowledge the smaller male, who whimpered pitifully at him, "if you are truly a doctor, you must fix my leg. The pain is unbearable!"
The doctor was silent. He bent down to the child's height and examined

It was a beautiful summer day in Italy, and even more so in Florence. Maria Auditore was one of many people who were currently enjoying the weather by making a trip to the market. It wasn't that she was in dire need of anything, but the day was much too inviting to spend it indoors.
Maria wandered through the throngs of people with no particular destination in mind. She enjoyed watching the masses and was glad to be out and about; the palazzo was feeling empty without Giovanni there. He was currently working at the Medici bank and wouldn't be expected home until late afternoon. Maria smiled softly to herself and her fingers reached up to brush the gold pendant that hung around her neck. It was Giovanni's engagement seal he had given her four years ago. The pendant was a flat oval shape with a brilliantly cut ruby set in the center. On the backside, the Auditore coat of

Ezio Auditore stood outside of a small looking building, inwardly groaning at the thought of actually having to work. His father had finally become so fed up with all of his troublemaking that he had told the young man to either get a job or stay at home with him. The Florentine noble chose the first option; at least this way he could get out of his house and perhaps goof off every once in awhile. He had originally wanted to pick out his new job, but before he could even begin to go around the city, asking people if they needed an extra assistant or something, his mother had gotten him a job working as an errand boy of some sorts for an artist that lived all the way across the city. The brunette showed his obvious displeasure to his new employment by not showing up the first day, but when his mother had found out that he was gallivanting around town with Federico, all hell broke loose. There was screaming, arguing, yelli

Do you remember the Big Bad Wolf? He destroyed the Three Little Pigs' houses and ate them (or only chased them, depending on the rendition). He ran to Little Red Riding Hood's home and devoured her grandmother. The Big Bad Wolf appears in countless fairy tales to eat and terrorize the general populace.
In many children's stories, the Big Bad Wolf is symbolic for the negative consequences that can follow bad choices. Two of the Three Little Pigs failed to work hard on their houses, allowing the wolf to blow them over with his tremendous breath. Littl

As most people know, I'm a fan of the Assassin's Creed series. I have been since the first game came out and though I have my issues with the franchise, especially the last two less than satisfactory titles, I'd still consider myself a loyal follower. Still, there is one flaw that I shall never be able to forgive Ubisoft for and that is its atrocious use of Arabic "surnames" in the 12th-13th century, the time in which the story takes place.
A protagonist who is called Ibn La'ahad or "Son of None" while his father's name is known? His children and wife are also called that way? Two brothers who are both called "Al-Sayf"? A man who is named Abbas Sofian? Did anyone actually bother to wonder if the Arabic usage of "surnames" might be different from Westerners, especially during that time?
Around the time of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the folks from Ubisoft once proudly stated in Xbox 360 Ma

The people of Florence were alive even during the late evening. They scurried about the streets below and many of them stopped to speak in small groups along the mouths of alleys. Florence was a city no different than any other and yet so few cities could compare to its luster. You looked out across the endless waves of mahogany rooftops and peaked towers, the way the sun speckled across their surface.
Ezio kept his distance just as La Volpe had suggested but you could see him from the corner of your eyes as he made subtle glances to briefly admire the sway in your hips while waltzing across roof to roof. You remembered the promiscuous way he’d worked the woman in market but what he got from her you didn’t know. And, if need be, you could pretend his charms were working on you, getting something of your own.
You flashed him a smile when you caught him leering again. “Enjoying the view, are we, Auditore?”
He glanced about t

"Si, bella. Trust me." Somehow, Ezio had managed to swipe Leonardo's hat from him and was now brandishing it in front of you.
"He treasures that hat more than his own life." You put a hand on your hip and dragged the other down your face and groaned.
"Which is why I want to see his reaction." Ezio smirked at you as he twirled the hat around his finger, you frowned at him and crossed your arms over your chest.
"You know how easily frazzled he gets on a daily basis, how do you think he'll react when he can't find his hat?"
"I'm sure he will be fine, he's a grown man." Ezio walked up to you and put an arm around your shoulder and pulled you close to him.
"And you are a giant child." You deadpanned at him, he gave you a kicked puppy look and pouted.
"Ah! You wound me with your harsh words, bella!" You smiled slightly at the immature male, then lightly punched his arm.

You coughed the whole day you were cleaning the Villa in Monteriggioni.
Somehow you caught a cold in the middle of summer, in Italy.
Fate seems to love you.
"Everything's fine.." You rasp.
Maria takes the broom out of your hand and leads you to sit on the bench in front of the door.
She places her cold hand against your forehead. Cold compared to your burning skin.
"(y/n)...You are burning up. I guess you caught my cold."
As a maid, you are supposed to look after her, even if it means to get sick yourself.
"I said I'm-" Heavy coughing cuts you off. "..fine..." You grumble. "I can't lose my job because of a mere cold. It'll fade." You promise Maria and grab the broom again, stomping to the front gate.
Almost crushing into him, you are startled by the sudden sight of Ezio, Maria's son.

Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad x OC
I hope you all are having a great weekend
Altaïr rose from his sleep as the morning sun shone in his eyes. He hadn't even realized that sleep finally came to him. He bid the Rafiq a good day, and left for his return to Masyaf. He needed to be with his wife, and he couldn't be with her soon enough. He needed to get on his knees and beg for forgiveness for all the wrong he'd done to her in their years of marriage.
He continued his thoughts on his journey back home, not skipping a beat in his memories with Aaliyah. He remembered how difficult it was to speak to her. She captivated him, but he couldn't utter a word to the young girl; as if her beauty had silenced his tongue and he could only stare in awe. He began to think that perhaps it was silly, to like a girl at such a young age when he should be training to be the best Assassin he could be. And so,

You hadn’t spoken with Desmond in over forty-eight hours. It felt like longer, days or weeks, and despite your protests it didn’t seem like anyone was going to change it. He had been strapped down in the Animus, reliving another memory that you didn’t care about. You didn’t care about the past. You cared about that moment, the long and stressful moment that seemed to stretch itself thinner and thinner.
Desmond’s body began reacting to reality, small little impulses in his brain triggered his fingers to flinch. His brows dove downwards and his eyes clenched until he finally opened them, glancing languidly about. His attention settled on you, lips twitching into a smirk.
Rebecca ran her fingers over a few keys in quick easy strokes. “All done for the day.” She stood up and tossed you a sly glance before sneaking off down the hall. She had put up with your constant berating, your worried questions, and irritated sighs since

Shaun and Rebecca just returned back to the hideout with Galina after their battle and confrontation with Isabelle and her Templar agents. Shaun carried Rebecca in his arms as she held her bleeding wound, soon being placed onto the mattress on the floor. Galina lifted her shirt a bitt to examine the wound. "It's not too deep. Give me a set of small tweezers. I'll get it out."
She asked Shaun, who obliged. After he got back, she began her work on Rebecca. Shaun sighed sadly as he heard Rebecca groan and almost scream in pain as Galina started to pull the bullet out of her body. As this was going on, Bishop contacted Shaun and the others. "How is Rebecca doing?" She asked with concern laced in her voice. Shaun watched with a hurt&

You'd just laid down for the night, your eyes still burning from the monitor screens. You'd been keeping track of Desmond's vitals, logging every scrap of information that you could. The Order had sent you to analyse the Animus' effect on the human body as well as any emotional trauma. The Bleeding Effect was only the tip of a very large iceberg and the Order was oh so incredibly interested about said iceberg.
Thus far, Desmond was reacting to the Animus just how you expected him to. It was a strenuous and stressful process, Ezio's life blurring into Desmond's, dreams blurring with reality. But you couldn't honestly say that Desmond was in any danger. You made sure to force him to take necessary breaks, to coax him into eating healthy and staying hydrated. It was to the point where Shaun would sarcastically gripe about you being the group's "mother hen".
It wasn't that you were trying to mother Desmond. You were just... worried. Really worried. There we

It was a place you'd been to many times before but never quite with Arno. There were a lot of places you hadn't been with him yet and this one was on the list. It was a secret list of places you wanted to share with him but you knew if you told him he'd somewhat scoff at the idea.
"No. I want sushi and..." You rolled your eyes, grabbing and tugging at his wrist. You groaned when Arno didn't budge from his spot on the sidewalk. "Come on, please. You eat... snails. You can certainly try this." You were having sushi tonight, whether he came or not.
"I do not." Arno snorted, breathy at the suggestion. "Just because I'm French... And it's called escargot. And not everyone eats it."

It was the longest game of paintball you'd ever played and you weren't even sure if the others realized that it was still just a game. Of course they took it too seriously. You agreed to play paintball with a bunch of Assassins and Desmond, worst of all, relived the genetic memories of his highly trained ancestors.
Desmond was one of the quietest, sneaking around and climbing up on top of everything he saw. He would scale onto the highest thing, whether it was a wall or a tree, and he would crouch down until completely hidden. The moment someone passed by he’d tag them and slip out of sight.
Shaun was a strategist, using the course's set up to corral the others together until they were more focused on each other rather than Shaun. Then, when they forgot all about him, he'd circle around and tag them rather haughtily, boasting about his skills while he jetted off across the field into hiding.
Rebecca was the worst of them. She was a fierce com

Mr. Lee pointed to one of the only empty chairs in the room, which happened to be in between the only other two students of color in the class.
Gloomily, Connor slouched to the back of the room, ignoring the nearly silent giggles from the other students as he passed, and took his seat between the African American girl with long, black braids and the Arab boy with bright blue eyes.
Mr. Lee watched him until Connor sat down, at which point he open

AC2-- Awkward RewardsThe day had started out simple enough. Federico Auditore had challenged Vieri di Pazzi to a race. The race had one condition. The loser had to do anything the winner wished of him. Vieri was happy with the terms, thinking of all the embarrassing things he could get Federico to do when he lost. The oldest Auditore was known for his lazy nature, if would be an easy win. He didn't even lend any thought of what could happen to him if Federico should somehow win.
This was exactly why he found himself hidden away in the stable, cursing every Auditore that had ever walked the planet. Federico was having a ball, draped over the stable's railing, listening to the other go on.

The sky was clear and the streets were muggy and crowded, like usual. Children chased one another. Shouting at one another or screaming in excitement. Guards walked around with menacing glares and swords. A few had masks on their faces, marking them as high ranking soldiers. A few guards were on the roofs as well. They walked around, bored out of their minds, and completely oblivious as to the pair of men running behind them.
“That was easy!” A man laughed.
“You’re such a child sometimes, Yusuf.” Another sighed.

It was getting the fire started that caused you the most concern: collecting wood, finding dry material, getting the spark, then breathing life into it. Skyrim certainly was a vast country, if the scale of this map was anywhere near accurate. Desmond scanned over the named landmarks. You always thought of yourself as living a simple life, have a decently paid job, maybe marry someone once you felt you were ready, have a few kids, and just being normal. That all changed when you had moved to Nassau and met the infamous Edward Kenway and the Jackdaw crew. Everything started out just fine, with them having a barrel of laughs while being drunk and seducing whatever women came their way and racking up an unimaginably high tab on the side. The only bad part was that Edward would constantly flirt with you, which got on your nerves very quickly.

The tent Reynolds gave you both was small but it was feasible between two people. Sleeping on the hard, cold ground was something all too familiar for you. The life of a thief was never luxurious and only on the best days did you splurge to rent out a tavern room. Taverns were prime spots for getting caught or being the unfortunate target of another thief.
So, you couldn't quite understand why sleeping tonight was agonizingly difficult. Edward slept quietly behind you, his snores were soft, breathy whispers and every now and then you'd hear him shift positions. One or twice throughout the night the back of his hand found your arm, caressing the skin tenderly before falling way as if he were checking to make sure you were still with him.
Or maybe you really did know what was keeping you up. The stress from hurting the man you love, the knowledge that you were going to try and slip away, the pain that strangled your heart.

Locating the house was fairly simple, Annetta was waiting for them at the front door. She escorted them in, but when she opened the door, the inside looked more like a brothel then a house. Women were everywhere, dressed in revealing clothing and entertaining guests.
“I think we have the wrong building . . .” Ezio said, not expecting this.
“No, no this is it,” Annetta assured.
(y/n) noticed some of the women giving Ezio seductive looks, she gave them death glares to which they only giggled at. From the very back, the most beautiful woman came forward dressed in a red silk dress, she looked much like Annetta, which meant the she was most likely her sister.
“It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Messer Ezio. Annetta speaks highly of you. I can see why,” she said.
“I appreciate the kind words Madonna . . . .?” Ezio said, pausing when he didn’t know her name.
“Ti prego, call me Paola,” she then turned her attentio

The girl ran through the alleyways, trying to loose the two men that were on her tail. (y/n) had once again become bored and did something rather unusual to break her boredom. She had looked around the garbage and found some rotten tomatoes, then using her incredible climbing skills, scaled up a wall to the roof of a house. With the tomatoes, she waited for a vulnerable target, and when she found it, she hauled the tomatoes over and ledge and hit her mark. After that, she got what she wanted: a fun game of chase, only problem is if she really did get caught, she’d probably suffer a bit of a beating. But so far, she’s never been caught by man or guard, she was just simply too swift.
Back to her situation, she turned sharply at a corner and climbed up a ladder to the safety of the roof tops. (y/n) snickered as she watched the men just pass on by, not even bothering to look up the ladder

It seemed like days before sensation started pouring back into Seona's body. Her hands felt the touch of cool water. The sounds of waves came roaring into her ears. She slowly opened her eyes, a bright light searing into them like a laser. But then, things began to shift. It was if reality around her was beginning to settle in and take shape from a moment of instability.
Seona closed her eyes again, unable to deal with the light still streaming in. In a few short moments, she began to hear voices in a language that was familiar. However, she couldn't understand them. She felt the sudden brace of what felt like cold, hard rock beneath her. An array of aromas started filling her nostrils, almost overwhelming her.
She felt herself becoming oriented in space, realizing that she was now lying on her stomach. She rested for a moment or two, taking a moment to collect her thoughts. She wasn't falling now, and that was as good of a start a

Chapter 1: And It Was All in Good Fun
What Halloween could mean to a person often depended on how old they were and what part of their life they were in. As a child, one enjoyed dressing up as a cool cartoon character or mythical figure and impressing your friends. The adults gave you candy, more than any other time of the year. It was pretty much a time to be silly and wild and it was all in good fun.
Halloween for a college student, however, was very different, at least at this university. Halloween was an excuse to throw wild parties, dress up in seductive costumes, and basically get yourself
The Writing ProcessWhat is the Writing Process? The Writing Process by LaMonaca
Many of us learned that the writing process is made up of five parts: Pre-writing, Writing, Revision, Editing, and Publishing. Indeed, this process has been so ingrained, and the vocabulary and terms have become such a part of our education, that some students (and adults) feel as if writing is a formulaic, rigid thingnot unlike learning mathematicsthat they simply never excelled in. Fortunately, this simply isn't true. While the five basic steps of the writing process are effective, they can only be effective if the people using the process understand the purpose of each step.
Experience has shown that many students do not know the purpose of drafting beyond a certain, vague understanding that you're supposed to "correct" or "fix" something for each new draft. Its unfortunate, but its also been shown that students who are forced to Pre-Write in certain ways, even when they have been
